TYPES OF STONE

Stone comes in many shapes, colors and sizes. Several of the smaller varieties are listed below. Stones can be used for drainage, back filling, foundations, and decorative purposes. For recommendations, feel free to contact us.

#57 Limestone

#57 limestone Limestone can be used for many purposes. #57 is commonly used in driveways, for drainage, and for backfilling. The overall size is about 3/4"-1". Grounded and Growing can provide a variety of sizes to meet your needs.
Coverage: 2 inches deep covers about 125 square feet per ton.

Screenings

screening Screenings are commonly used as a sub base under pavers and bricks when laying walks and patios. When mixed with #57 limestone you can achieve a solid, compact base material to set your sub base.
Coverage: 2 inches deep covers about 100 square feet per ton.

Riverbed

riverbed Riverbeds are smooth, multicolored decorative stones. They are available in three sizes; small (3/8"), medium (3/4"-1 1/2"), and large (2"). The smaller size is often referred to as pea gravel. Pea gravel makes a great ground cover for children's play areas. All 3 sizes are available in bulk. Mediums are available bagged.

Lava Rock

lava rock Lava rock comes in an assortment of reds and purples. It is a light weight porous decorative stone. Many small holes in each stone aid in the retention of water. The stones overall sizes are 1-2 inches.
Coverage: 2 inches deep covers about 250 square feet per ton.

White Marble Chips

white marble chips White marble chips are often used as a decorative ground cover. They are available in bulk or bagged.
Coverage: 2 inches deep covers about 125 square feet per ton.
